Favorite quote: You wish your life could be bigger and more exciting but it can’t be because you’re the one living it. —Avery
Review:
Man, I related to Avery on so many levels. For so long, I was the predictable one and my brother was the daredevil (still is). But like Avery, I had to learn to dream further than what seemed possible or practical—like becoming a writer and editor after studying psychology. And I loved Brooks! He comes across as the typical moody musician, and he is. But he’s so much more, too. He’s got a soft spot for his family and for his friends . . . and eventually, that soft spot grows to include Avery too. He’s so good for her, constantly pushing her to stand up for herself, to think about what she wants rather than what others expect. It was fun to see Avery break out of the typical, even if it wasn’t exactly a clean break at first. And seeing Avery push Brooks to open up was a beautiful thing to behold.
